Opening up the past
Xebit Ltd (pronounced égzibit) are working with museums, libraries and other organisations to make Britain's fascinating heritage more widely accessible.
By digitising (photographing, or 3D modelling) delicate items or hard to display objects we are helping to solve the problem of so much to show, so little room.
We're using familiar Internet technologies to open up archived collections to a much wider audience.
Once you have a digitised collection it can be used in many ways - a kiosk based solution that allows you to expand the detail on an existing exhibition or a website that opens your collection to the world. The same systems can be used to create multimedia CD-ROMs for your visitors.
How we work
Xebit employ a core development team together with the very best freelance contractors to ensure the appropriate resources are used, thus maximising value for money.
Low overhead and total flexibility means we are able to respond quickly to changing demands within the market place and changes in technology.
We have developed our team around people who have a genuine interest in lifelong learning. Not only are we interested in the technology but also in the experience that the technology can provide.
Major projects
Recently we've built a 10 kiosk system for the Black Country Living Museum and a website for Torbay that has been hailed as having beautiful design
, being impressive and attractive
, and crafted with love.
How can we help you?
Have you got a collection that deserves a wider audience? If so please contact us to discuss how we could work together.
You can reach us by email: tony@xebit.net or by phone, fax or post using the details top-left.
Not only but also
We're rebuilding our old site, so a lot of the other things we do are missing from this temporary site, things like:
- 3D Walkthroughs
- Multimedia CD-ROMs
- Commercial Websites
- Games
We're also working on a site to demonstrate the power of Xebitor, our Content Management System designed to handle digitised collections and produce web sites that meet the strict technical requirements of the latest e-government standards.
Come back soon.
